Like we’ve regularly seen under this ownership at Chelsea, the summer transfer window was another busy time at Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea were extremely active on Friday’s deadline day, especially when it came to outgoings. The Blues managed to get several individuals out on loan, including Raheem Sterling’s temporary switch to rivals Arsenal.

Head coach Enzo Maresca certainly has a talented squad of players at his disposal, which has been boosted by several new additions in the last couple of months.

Ranking Chelsea’s signings

Yet again, Chelsea signed so many new faces during the transfer window. Many of them have been integrated into the senior squad, while some others are due to join in 2025.

Here is how we’ve rated every incoming signing at Chelsea in the 2024/25 summer window…

Tosin Adarabioyo – 6.5

Chelsea snapped up Tosin Adarabioyo on a free transfer, which is a pretty smart piece of business by the club’s recruitment team.

The 26-year-old central defender has looked pretty assured so far in his two appearances this season, both of which have come in the Conference League.

In terms of the Premier League, it looks like he’ll be cover for the starting centre-backs Levi Colwill and Wesley Fofana. We can put a tick by his name as a shrewd pick up this summer, though.

Estevao Willian – 8

Next, we’ve given a high score on Estevao Willian, largely because there’s so much excitement within the fanbase around this transfer.

The Blues confirmed back in June that Estevao will officially join them next summer after agreeing a deal with Palmeiras, where he’s continuing his development.

At the age of 17, the wonderkid is starring as a key first-team player for Palmeiras. He’s received his maiden call-up to Brazil’s senior squad next month, too.

Omari Kellyman – 5

Chelsea signed youngster Omari Kellyman in a £19m deal (BBC) from Aston Villa, which on the face off it looks like an odd move. In the same window, Ian Maatsen moved in the opposite direction to Villa Park.

We hope the 18-year-old attacking midfielder proves us wrong, but we’d be surprised to see him in the first-team squad anytime soon.

He’s already started the season with a couple of appearances in the Under-21s side, so there has to be serious question marks around the transfer fee.

Marc Guiu – 6

Marc Guiu is already giving Chelsea fans headaches with his performances.

There’s so much to enjoy about the energetic 18-year-old striker, who joined from Barcelona in the summer. However, he’s been very raw so far with his displays and it’s a big ask for him to be the main understudy to Nicolas Jackson.

This deal definitely could go one way or the other in the coming years, but judging it now, it’s worrying he was the only centre-forward to arrive.

Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall – 5

It’s been a slow start to life for Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, 25, since joining from Leicester City. If anything, we thought he’d begin quickly because he was coached by Maresca last season at the King Power Stadium.

In theory, the box-to-box midfielder is a replacement in the squad for Conor Gallagher. Based on the early weeks of the season, he’s a few steps below Gallagher’s level.

Dewsbury-Hall needs to fix up quickly to show just why the club signed him.

Renato Veiga – 8

Renato Veiga has been the surprise package so far from Chelsea’s newest batch of recruits. Signed for £12m (BBC) from Basel, he’s forced his way into the first-team plans and looks a huge bargain.

The 21-year-old is physically imposing and is impressing as a left-back. He’s got the versatility to play in midfield, too.

Speaking via Chelsea’s YouTube channel, Veiga admitted Blues legend N’Golo Kante was his idol. Well, he’s on the early path to becoming a fan favourite at Stamford Bridge, just like Kante was.

Caleb Wiley – 6

It’s hard to say too much about Chelsea recruit Caleb Wiley, someone who signed from MLS club Atlanta United and immediately went straight out on loan to Strasbourg in France.

The 19-year-old left-back is one of the investments for the future, so time will tell how this one works out.

Filip Jorgensen – 6.5

Chelsea’s addition of goalkeeper Filip Jorgensen, 22, from Villarreal is a very interesting one.

First of all, he’s not the type of high-profile and proven name that many would’ve liked in-between the sticks. He’s certainly got the passing game and composure to suit Maresca’s system, though.

He gets an average rating for now because he’s come in as the understudy to Robert Sanchez, but let’s see if he can become the first-choice keeper and make a bigger impact this season.

Aaron Anselmino – 6

Chelsea signed Aaron Anselmino from Boca Juniors this summer, but they’ve immediately loaned him straight back to the Argentine side.

The 19-year-old centre-back is another unknown youngster signed for the future.

Pedro Neto – 9

From all the Chelsea signings in the latest window, Pedro Neto gets the highest rating. If it wasn’t for his suspect injury record, this would’ve been a 10/10 deal.

The 24-year-old winger is one addition you look at and think he walks into the best starting line-up, which is what you want one the club splashes the cash yet again. He’s looked really bright so far in his performances, but there’s so much more to come from the Portuguese attacker.

Speaking via X on Saturday, Paul Merson named Neto a top three signing in the Premier League this summer.

Joao Felix – 6

Chelsea fans must have been shocked when Joao Felix, 24, re-signed for the club in August.

He scored on his second debut for the club last weekend in the 6-2 league victory over Wolverhampton Wanderers, firing in a thunderous finish. Incidentally, the attacker’s link up with Neto is something to keep an eye out on moving forward.

However, Felix has been so inconsistent in recent years and putting him on a seven-year deal is such a massive risk.

Mike Penders – 6

Chelsea confirmed during the final week of the summer window that they’ve agreed a deal to sign Genk’s 19-year-old goalkeeper Mike Penders, who’s officially arriving in West London next year.

He’ll join as a highly rated Belgian gloveman. There’s a lot of talented young shot-stoppers currently on the club’s books, though.

Jadon Sancho – 5.5

Finally, Chelsea wrapped up the signing of Jadon Sancho on deadline day, although the club still hasn’t officially announced it.

It’s been claimed by The Evening Standard that the Blues completed the season-long loan signing of Sancho from Manchester United, which includes an obligation to buy for £25m if certain criteria is met.

It’s so difficult grading this transfer because Sancho’s flopped in Manchester. However, the 24-year-old winger is moving with a point to prove and the former Borussia Dortmund star was previously fantastic in German football.
