David Ornstein now gives big update on Chelsea’s future transfers under Mauricio Pochettino
Journalist David Ornstein has now given an update on what any future transfers for Chelsea are going to look like under Mauricio Pochettino.
He told NBC Sports that contrary to reports, he believes the manager does not have sole control over who is going to be brought in during the upcoming windows.
It had been claimed that due to impressing the owners in his brief time at the club, Pochettino was now going to be given a far bigger say in transfer matters at the club.
Todd Boehly has so far ensured he has hired the best possible people for the job to help with recruitment, as he has taken the necessary steps back from his first window in charge.
However, Ornstein has now claimed these suggestions are wide of the mark, insisting there are still a large group of people transfer suggestions need to get through.
He said: “There have been many suggestions that Pochettino will have ‘full control, more power’…that is not my understanding.
“Pochettino will have input at Chelsea but it’s in the hands of the sporting directors in conjunction with the owners.”
It is likely that a striker is going to be top of the list in terms of positions that Chelsea are looking to bring in during a future window.
