David Seaman claims that Chelsea boss Enzo Maresca is really getting the best from one of his players in the opening months of the season.
It surprised plenty when Enzo Maresca, 44, was appointed the new Chelsea manager in the summer. Overall, it’s been a pretty good start to his time in charge at Stamford Bridge.
Despite the Blues’ 2-1 league defeat to Liverpool at the weekend, it’s clear that Maresca’s style of play is taking shape on the pitch. There’s several individuals playing some great football, too.

Nicolas Jackson is proving doubters wrong
Former England and Arsenal star David Seaman has praised Chelsea’s Nicolas Jackson for the way he’s been playing recently. In particular, he claimed that the 23-year-old Blues striker is thriving under Maresca.
Seaman said on his YouTube channel: “He’s (Maresca) getting the best out of Jackson as well. A lot of people were doubting him at the start of the season weren’t they.”
Chelsea have two brilliant options at striker
We’ve seen numerous attackers struggle to lead the line at Chelsea in recent years, but suddenly the club have the luxury of two superb options to play as the centre-forward.
First of all, Jackson is doing a stellar job as the first-choice striker. The £32m frontman (The Guardian) is really beginning to find some consistency during his second year at the club.
In eight Premier League appearances this season, Jackson has scored five goals and created three assists.
Speaking on BBC Radio 5 Live after Chelsea’s defeat to Liverpool, Leon Osman claimed Jackson is starting to become a “quality” striker.
Elsewhere, versatile Blues attacker Christopher Nkunku is the other main option to play up front. So far, the Frenchman’s scored seven goals in 12 appearances across all competitions this term, with six of them coming in cup competitions.
