David Seaman thinks Chelsea signed an individual in the summer that’s capable of scaring opposition players.

There was another significant turnover of the Chelsea squad in the recent summer transfer window, which included the arrival of several new stars at Stamford Bridge.

It’s resulted in Blues head coach Enzo Maresca being left with a very talented group of players. Can he get the club back in the big time and winning trophies again, though?

Chelsea signed many high-profile names in the summer, including Jadon Sancho. GiveMeSport reports that Sancho has already impressed Maresca with his attitude.

David Seaman raves about Jadon Sancho

Former England goalkeeper David Seaman has delivered a glowing verdict on Sancho after his recent debut performance in Chelsea colours.

The 24-year-old winger, who signed for the Blues in the summer on loan from Manchester United with an obligation to buy, made his debut in last Saturday’s 1-0 victory against Bournemouth. In fact, he made a massive impact with his performance in the second half and assisted the winning goal.

According to Seaman, Chelsea’s Sancho looked great a few days ago and he’s the type of skilful attacker that can frighten opponents.

He said on the Seaman Says podcast: “The fans were behind him. They were singing his name in that second half [against Bournemouth], quite rightly so his performance was great.

“Trust me, a confident Jadon Sancho is a good player. Players are scared of him; you can tell that. You can see the full-back will go towards him and then back off because they don’t want to get embarrassed by a little trick. He’s got every trick in the book.”

Chelsea depth on the wings

There’s suddenly a scenario at Chelsea where they’re stacked with quality options in the wide areas. Which wingers will come out on top as the preferred combination, though?

Sancho, who’s at his best from the left wing, adds a new dynamic following his summer arrival. When he’s fit and firing, the Englishman’s proven he’s a brilliant attacking threat. His form at Borussia Dortmund (see below) earlier in his career proves just how dangerous he can be.

However, Sancho faces competition from Chelsea stars such as Mykhailo Mudryk, Pedro Neto and Noni Madueke for a regular starting position.
