Didier Drogba gives his instant reaction to Mason Mount announcing he is leaving Chelsea

Chelsea legend Didier Drogba has been left upset after watching Mason Mount’s goodbye video posted on social media.

He posted on his own Instagram story explaining that he was heartbroken after hearing the 24-year-old speak.

It is expected that today Mount will be announced as a new Manchester United player, after his relationship with the Chelsea hierarchy completely deteriorated to the point where he didn’t feel like he could stay.

This is occurring despite the fact that he was offered numerous contract offers to remain at the club, with them being both long-term and short-term.

The option was on the table to reignite his Chelsea career under a new manager. Mauricio Pochettino, however he did not look to take this up.

When it became known he would be looking for a move, many big teams were keen to bring him in after a number of strong seasons at the top level.

Drogba reacts to Mount

It has been claimed that Liverpool were originally the England international’s first choice, however he will be playing his football for Erik ten Hag’s side next season.

In an attempt to show emotion to supporters, Mount uploaded a video where he addressed them directly.

Drogba has been one of the many figures associated with Chelsea to respond to this, reposting it to his own story with his own words.

He said: “Another prince leaving the club of his life. Thank you and all the very best to you champ.”

There will no doubt be no love lost between both parties when the Englishman has his first trip back to West London, currently scheduled in for late in the season.

The reaction he gets from the crowd will be polar opposite to what he was used to as somewhat of a fan favourite.
