‘Different perspective’: Pochettino and Boehly aren’t on the same page about one topic at Chelsea

Mauricio Pochettino and Todd Boehly are not on the same page at Chelsea when it comes to Conor Gallagher.

That is according to Ben Jacobs.

So, what is the latest on Conor Gallagher at Chelsea? Let’s take a look…

What’s the story?

Well – by the sounds of it – Boehly would be happy to sell the Chelsea No.23 this summer, although Pochettino is not as willing to offload the England international.

Jacobs – a respected journalist for CBS Sports – told Give Me Sport: “Gallagher’s perspective is that he’s a Chelsea player and he wants to fight for his place, but Pochettino and the Chelsea board still need to get the squad size down.

“Whereas Pochettino quite likes Gallagher and he is not necessarily the first name out of the players that Chelsea need to resolve, I think the Chelsea board would have a slightly different perspective and would be prepared to sell Gallagher for the right price.

“There’s the Pochettino perspective and he has been very impressed by Gallagher. He said that during the American tour, but if the right number is hit in terms of an offer, I think the Chelsea board would be prepared to sell him.”

According to Fabrizio Romano, Chelsea value the 23-year-old at a sum of £50m.

Todd Boehly should leave Conor Gallagher decision to Mauricio Pochettino

In our view, Boehly would be wise to leave footballing decisions such as this one to Pochettino.

The American has already made headlines since taking over at Chelsea due to his insistence on being too closely involved, including his now infamous visits to the Stamford Bridge dressing room.

Of course, Boehly must stay on top of finances, and may need the money from Gallagher’s sale, but it would be foolish of the 49-year-old to go against Pochettino and look to sell a player the Argentine likes.

Be sure to keep an eye on this situation, as Gallagher’s future remains up in the air.
