Chelsea definitely have a few exceptionally talented footballers when you go through their current crop of players.

The Chelsea squad is blessed with some technically superb stars, particularly in the forward areas of the pitch.

Ian Wright claims Chelsea have an attack that can dismantle most teams. So far, they’ve looked a big offensive threat with 36 goals in 16 games across all competitions this season.

Dimitar Berbatov is a huge fan of Chelsea talisman Cole Palmer

Dimitar Berbatov, the former Premier League striker, has shared that he’s a huge admirer of Chelsea’s Cole Palmer.

He’s made the interesting claim that the 22-year-old Blues attacker has a unique skill to see things on the football pitch that most players can’t because of his football IQ.

When discussing Palmer’s qualities, Berbatov told talkSPORT: “Sometimes you see how a player approaches the ball. How the player controls the ball, how the player passes the ball, how he moves through the lines to look for the space. Now you know he’s intelligent. He has something that the other players don’t see. He reads the game. He can pass. He can score. He’s good under pressure… The talent is there for everybody to see, of course.”

There’s some concern within the Blues fanbase about an injury to Palmer because he’s not been in training this week. However, one source claims Palmer is expected to be available for Chelsea at home to Arsenal on Sunday.

Cole Palmer vs Mohamed Salah

Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah has been the yardstick in the Premier League for elite attackers for so many years. Therefore, it’s interesting to compare how he and Palmer have started this season.

There’s a strong case to be made that Salah has been the division’s best player in the opening quarter of this season, but the statistics suggest Palmer is right there with him.

In fairness, Salah scored and assisted during Liverpool’s 2-1 league win at home to Chelsea last month. In contrast, Gary Neville said Chelsea’s Palmer was quiet at Anfield.

For now, 32-year-old Liverpool winger Salah is still the benchmark in the Premier League due to years and years of excellence. However, there’s every chance that Chelsea attacker Palmer may eventually be the person to take his crown.
