Chelsea fans would have been hoping for Cole Palmer to inspire their side to victory against Liverpool earlier.
Cole Palmer has been Chelsea‘s best player this season, already racking up 11 goal contributions in the Premier League.
However, the attacking midfielder was unable to prevent his side from losing 2-1 against Liverpool at Anfield.
Before the game, Palmer spoke about how he was being marked more during matches.

Gary Neville on Cole Palmer’s performance against Liverpool
Despite losing to Arne Slot’s men, it was not Chelsea’s worst display of the season. In fact, there were some pretty impressive performances.
Enzo Maresca will be pleased with Romeo Lavia’s showing, for example, with the midfielder having had no trouble with receiving the ball and driving through the middle.
However, for Palmer, it was not his best display. Manchester United legend Gary Neville thought he was really quiet during the first half.
Commentating on the game for Sky Sports, Neville said: “It has been a quiet half for Palmer. He hasn’t been involved. He had a bit of space and would have really fancied his chances.”
Cole Palmer will bounce back
It is true. Palmer has certainly had better games in a Chelsea shirt, but his ineffectiveness earlier is not something to worry about.
Liverpool are top opposition and were just able to deal with him well. It would not be a shock to see the 22-year-old raise his game against Newcastle United next weekend and score against them.
Palmer grabbed one goal against the Magpies last term and will be looking to do the same again next Sunday.
While the England international was not at his best, Nicolas Jackson managed to turn up on the day. He netted Chelsea’s only goal of the match and came in for praise for his finishing.
“His finishing is improving,” Leon Osman said while discussing Jackson during the match. The Senegal international and Palmer have been two of the most in-form attackers in the Premier League this term and if that does not change, then Maresca’s men will certainly have a chance of qualifying for the Champions League.
