Djordje Petrovic shares the Chelsea teammate he has asked for advice from before League Cup final

Djordje Petrovic has shared that he’s reached out to Chelsea teammate Ben Chilwell to ask him for advice before the League Cup final this weekend.

There’s a trophy on the line on Sunday afternoon when Chelsea play against Liverpool at Wembley Stadium in the Carabao Cup final.

For the Blues, they’re bidding to elevate an underwhelming season that has them 10th in the Premier League right now.

If Mauricio Pochettino’s side can win silverware, we suspect the mood within the fanbase will feel a lot more optimistic.

However, opponents Liverpool are flying at the top of the league right now and carry the favourites tag for Sunday.

Djordje Petrovic, who’ll hope to retain his position as the starting goalkeeper, has been speaking ahead of Sunday’s final.

The 24-year-old keeper has shared that he’s spoken with Blues left-back Ben Chilwell for advice about playing at Wembley Stadium before the final. At the age of 27, Chilwell’s played in some of football’s biggest matches, including at Wembley.

“I’ve not been to Wembley before so I will try to absorb the atmosphere, take it in, and enjoy the moment. Of course, though, you want to win at Wembley as it is known across the world. Big games are played there FA Cups, League Cups, Champions League finals,” Petrovic said via Chelsea’s official website.

“Against Liverpool, it’s going to be blue against red and I can’t imagine yet what it will be like. I will see on the day.

“I have actually spoken to Chilly (Ben Chilwell) because after the semi-final, everyone in the dressing room was singing about Wembley. Of course, I know about it but I wanted to know specifics, what made it special. So we spoke and he shared some experience with me.”

Chelsea vs Liverpool

There’s certainly going to be a lot of inexperience in the Chelsea ranks at the weekend, so the Blues players with big-game exposure, like Chilwell, can play deciding roles.

From what we’ve seen of Petrovic in goal so far, he seems a confident character that will take everything in his stride.
