Journalist Simon Phillips has told GiveMeSport that Edouard Mendy has no interest in signing a new contract with Chelsea at this time.
The goalkeeper is yet to feature since the World Cup, with him currently still out injured with a finger injury.
However, it does seem as if the number one spot at Stamford Bridge is a long way away from the Senegal man’s grasp right now.

Fellow goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga, who played understudy to Mendy for the majority of his time in West London, has established himself as the number one option ever since Graham Potter took over.
The Spain international has proven regularly that he is still an impressive goalkeeper, with many likely to have forgotten about his abilities during his extended spell on the bench.
Since joining when Frank Lampard was in charge for just £22m in 2020, Mendy has proven to be one of the most impressive purchases in the club’s recent history.
Mendy not signing new deal
However, Phillips has claimed that he currently has no interest in extending his stay at the club.
He said: “Mendy is another one that doesn’t look good at the moment.
“He’s not looking to sign a new contract extension with Chelsea as of now, there’s been no talks of late. Chelsea have also been pondering replacements for him so he could go.”

Despite Kepa’s abilities, there have been some rumours linking the Blues to a new goalkeeper in the summer.
This includes Brentford’s David Raya, who has made it clear himself that he has no intention of signing a new deal across West London.
The club will also be keeping an eye on the development of Gabriel Slonina in the youth squad, with him brought in last summer with plenty of hope regarding his future.
