Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino has claimed that attacker Christopher Nkunku is getting closer to returning to training.
He said in his pre-match press conference that the Frenchman could be involved after the upcoming international break in a few weeks’ time.
Nkunku has been absent for the entire season so far as Chelsea have looked to build their side without their marquee attacking signing.

During the pre-season tour of the United States, he was very impressive in front of goal, scoring in practically every fixture he played.
However, his presence has certainly been missed this season, admitted so by Pochettino.
The manager however today had some positive news regarding his recovery from injury.
He said: “He is doing really, really well. He is really close Maybe after the international he will be involved. Maybe, maybe, not sure.
Nkunku getting closer to return
“He was the player when you see the goals from last season, it’s a player that can provide goals and I think we are missing goals. We think he’s a player that can be important for us because he proved he can score.
“We cannot complain. We need to work. Things can happen. We are looking forward to recover him and see him help us score more goals.”
The news would have come as a huge boost to Chelsea fans, as things finally look as if they are taking a turn for their side.
They are currently four games unbeaten in all competitions, looking to make it five tomorrow against Brentford.
Without Nkunku’s goals, Pochettino may look to Nicolas Jackson in an attempt to break the deadlock. The Senegal international was dropped for the last game against Arsenal, but we’re predicting for him to return to the starting side tomorrow afternoon.
