Former Chelsea striker Dominic Solanke has played alongside some extremely talented footballers in his career.

Right now at Chelsea‘s rivals Tottenham Hotspur, Dominic Solanke is sharing the pitch with Son Heung-min, who is one of the best forwards in the Premier League.

At Liverpool, the 27-year-old also got to play alongside the likes of Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane and Virgil van Dijk.

However, it is a former Chelsea player whom Solanke has named as his most gifted teammate. Solanke was actually linked with a return to Chelsea in the summer, but the Blues never agreed a deal with Bournemouth in the end.

Eden Hazard Dominic Solanke’s most gifted teammate

While Son, Salah and Van Dijk are all still going strong in the Premier League, Hazard is no longer playing football after retiring from the sport last year.

Nevertheless, when asked at a five-a-side tournament at Tottenham’s training centre for his most gifted teammate, Solanke’s answer was Eden Hazard, which was relayed by the Daily Mail.

Solanke only ended up playing one game alongside Hazard during his time in west London, but the Chelsea legend obviously made quite the impression on him in training.

Should Chelsea have signed Dominic Solanke during the summer?

Hazard is Chelsea’s past now, but so is Solanke and leaving things that way has not caused the Blues any harm.

Coming through Chelsea’s academy, perhaps the club may have been able to convince Solanke to join them over Tottenham.

But Bournemouth’s £65m price tag was a lot of money, while Chelsea have Nicolas Jackson and Christopher Nkunku, who have not done a bad job under Enzo Maresca this season.

Jackson has scored four goals in seven Premier League games, two more than Solanke, while Nkunku has managed half of the England international’s tally despite having started just one match.

All in all, then, Chelsea probably made the right choice not bringing Solanke back to Stamford Bridge.
