Chelsea fans will always have a soft spot for Eden Hazard after all he did for the club, and now fans have another reason to love him after what Michael Emenalo has said.

Michael Emenalo enjoyed a pretty successful time of things at Chelsea, helping uncover the likes of Mohamed Salah and Kevin De Bruyne.

Of course, both players ended up moving on and developing into world-class players, but the fact that Emenalo found them in the rough is a positive.

The Saudi Pro League Sporting Director enjoyed around six years at Chelsea before moving onto new roles, but Emenalo did come into indirect contact with the Blues recently in a battle for Victor Osimhen.

Interestingly, the former Chelsea chief has now been talking to his good friend John Obi Mikel about his time at Stamford Bridge, and revealed a chat that he had with Eden Hazard.

Michael Emenalo shares what Eden Hazard was really like at Chelsea

Eden Hazard is a name that Chelsea fans will no doubt still wish they were hearing called out at Stamford Bridge, as he was simply sensational to watch.

The Belgian featured 352 times for Chelsea, scoring 110 goals and assisting 85 of his teammates.

Despite not even being at the club anymore, Romeo Lavia has shared how his fellow Belgian Hazard has helped him settle into life at Stamford Bridge.

Now, when speaking to John Obi Mikel on his podcast, Michael Emenalo shared a couple of private chats he had with Eden Hazard during their time at the club together.

He stated.

“There was one player there, Eden Hazard, who just had zero. He was just absolutely wonderful and these guys want to protect him because the level of quality he had was just exceptional.

“And you know they were all my favourites but one of my all-time favourites (Eden Hazard). He knows how to drive me crazy.

“He has a bad game and I come to Eden saying you’re killing me, and he says oh no you look sad.

“Yes, because you’re killing me, you know, and one day I said to him if I had your talent, and he just stopped me and said, ah, but you don’t have my talent.

“And he broke down laughing and all the players were jumping around laughing. But then he comes back and says don’t worry next weekend, it will be fine.”

Eden Hazard used to cause Manchester United all kinds of issues

Rio Ferdinand came out and stated that Manchester United even used to prepare especially for Hazard.

“We played against Liverpool and Chelsea and I remember in the training sessions we were setting up to stop Hazard and Coutinho.

“He put a box in the middle of the pitch or in the area they play in, and the players were looking at each other like we don’t set up to stop individuals, we have never done that at United.

“Even Messi, we didn’t really have a massive plan for him. It was that mindset of you worry about us, not us worry about you.

“Those two games made me think we were setting up with a defeatist mentality rather than a title winning team last season.

“It was a very big shift and that was a thing where one of the things where the players were not against him, but it gave the players a question mark about him in their head.”
