Gabby Agbonlahor is shocked to hear rumours that Chelsea’s Mateo Kovacic could join Manchester City this summer.
There’s plenty of speculation in the media right now that suggests Mateo Kovacic, 29, could be on his way out of Chelsea.
ESPN claimed this week that Man City are currently in talks to sign Kovacic during the upcoming transfer window. In fact, they’re prepared to sell him if their £35million asking price is met.
The central midfielder has made 221 appearances as a Blues player, but he could now be offered the chance to work under Pep Guardiola and join the newly-crowned Premier League champions.

TalkSPORT pundit Agbonlahor is amazed that Chelsea could soon let Kovacic go.
“I just don’t understand why you’d let him go. I really, really like him. He’s going to suit Manchester City so much and make them so much stronger,” Agbonlahor told talkSPORT.

With Kovacic’s current deal expiring next year, combined with Chelsea’s desperate need to trim the squad, we can see the reasoning behind selling Kovacic.
He’s still got the individual quality to be one of the Blues top performers when he’s on his game, but he’s just gone off the boil recently like so many of his teammates.
A high-profile transfer to the Etihad Stadium would remind everyone of the Croatian star’s talent, though.
