England U19s had five Chelsea youngsters feature yesterday including attacker Enzo Maresca called ‘very good’

There was a huge Chelsea presence in the England Under-19s side that were in action on Wednesday afternoon.

England’s Young Lions kickstarted their qualifying campaign for UEFA U19 EURO 2025 with a 1-0 victory yesterday against Lithuania.

For the Chelsea academy, they should be very proud because five Blues youngsters featured in midweek for the England U19s team. In fact, Will Antwi’s starting line-up included four rising Chelsea talents.

Todd Boehly is a big advocate of the Chelsea academy structure, so it’s great to see the club continues to help develop stars for the future.

Five Chelsea players represent England U19s versus Lithuania

The Chelsea quartet of Harrison Murray-Campbell, Kiano Dyer, Tyrique George, and Shumaira Mheuka all started for England’s U19s yesterday. Blues youngster Joshua Acheampong was also used as a substitute in the second half, too.

Arsenal’s Ethan Nwaneri scored the only goal in a 1-0 win with a glancing header in the sixth minute. In fairness, Blues winger Tyrique George assisted the goal with a superb cross into the penalty box from the left flank.

From the Chelsea names above, George may just be the pick of the bunch.

The 18-year-old attacker has been shining for the Blues U21s, but he’s also made five first-team appearances this season.

Noni Madueke previously told everybody to watch out for Chelsea attacker George, so his development will be fascinating to follow in the next few years.

Enzo Maresca rates Tyrique George

Chelsea’s academy star has had a taste of senior football in the last couple of months, so he’ll surely be hoping to kick on and enjoy plenty more.

Enzo Maresca, the Blues manager, has been extremely complimentary of George already this season.

Maresca claimed George was “very good” in Chelsea’s recent 8-0 win over Noah in the Conference League, where he started the game and played 68 minutes. The European campaign has been great for the English talent so far because he’s featured in all three group stage matches.
