Former Chelsea defender and staff member Paulo Ferreira has claimed that Chelsea should go all out and sign Joao Felix permanently this summer.
He told A Bola that the talent of the player should be enough for the Blues to take the chance on the signing.
It was reported as soon as last season came to an end that the club would not be extending Felix’s time at the club beyond the agreed loan spell.

This is despite the Portugal international being the top scorer at the club in the Premier League in the time period since he joined.
Despite that, he was certainly an infuriating and inconsistent player during his half season at Stamford Bridge, although base talent was clear to see.
Ferreira defends Felix
Nevertheless, it was reportedly new manager Mauricio Pochettino who was given the final say over whether to make an effort to have Felix in their ranks.
Ferreira has now claimed that he believes the Blues will be making a mistake not bringing him in.

He said: “When João arrived at Chelsea, Graham Potter was in charge and he was playing, he was fine, but things changed a little with the arrival of Frank [Lampard]. It’s part. They are different coaches. Maybe Frank saw something in João that didn’t fit his idea, or he wanted something he didn’t have.
“João [Félix] is a player with enormous talent and the truth is that he even showed it at Chelsea. I would really like him to stay and he himself has already shown a desire to continue, but it’s complicated.”
It is likely the Argentine pointed to new signing Christopher Nkunku and his position as the reason to why they did not need Felix on a permanent deal.
