Enzo Fernandez’s future remains up in the air, with the midfielder being linked with a move away from Chelsea.

Both Real Madrid and Manchester City are thought to be interested in Fernandez, who has refused to rule out a transfer to the former.

After his heroics in the Blues’ FA Cup semi-final against Leeds United on Sunday, supporters will not want to see him go. Chelsea fans chanted Fernandez’s name following the full-time whistle as they showed their appreciation to him for scoring the team’s winning goal.

Enzo Fernandez wants Chelsea to up contract offer and sign more experienced players

While speculation about a potential move to either the Santiago Bernabeu or the Etihad refuses to go away, there is still hope of Chelsea keeping hold of Fernandez.

In fact, even without Champions League football it looks like the Club World Cup winners may be able to retain their midfielder.

Journalist Simon Phillips has claimed on Si Phillips Talks Chelsea that if Chelsea up their current contract offer and sign more experienced players, Fernandez could remain at Stamford Bridge.

If the Conference League holders do not meet those two conditions, it will be interesting to see what happens.

Fernandez has a contract until 2032, so Chelsea are not under pressure to sell him. But after all the chaos this season, the last thing the club need is an unhappy player kicking up a fuss all summer.

If Enzo Fernandez leaves, we should be all over Bernardo Silva 🤩

What Calum McFarlane has said about Enzo Fernandez’s FA Cup semi-final performance

If McFarlane is still part of Chelsea’s backroom staff next season, he will not want to see Fernandez depart.

The 40-year-old is a huge fan of the Argentine and praised him after the FA Cup semi-final, hailing his performance as “exceptional”.

Speaking to Chelsea’s official club website about Fernandez, McFarlane said: “You see him driving the group on, you see him making tackles, you see him fighting for every loose ball. So he was exceptional and deserved his man of the match award.”

Hopefully, Fernandez can score some more big goals for Chelsea before the season ends and remain in west London. He is one of the team’s most important players and will be hard to replace.
