Enzo Fernandez has just spoken very highly about a player who’s been recently linked with Chelsea in the transfer rumour mill.
As the 2024/25 season enters its final stretch, the transfer speculation is hotting up around the Blues and what they may do this summer.
Chelsea want to offload several players in the next window, including some high-profile individuals currently out on loan.
In terms of potential incomings, Chelsea want to strengthen several areas to improve for next season. If Enzo Maresca’s side can secure Champions League qualification, it’ll surely be easier attracting the bigger names to Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea linked with Franco Mastantuono
In fresh transfer rumours this week, Chelsea have been mentioned as one of the teams eyeing River Plate’s Franco Mastantuono.
It’s been reported that Chelsea are interested in signing Franco Mastantuono. Apparently, they’re joined by Manchester United, Barcelona and Atletico Madrid as admirers of the 17-year-old wonderkid. In addition, his current release clause with Argentine giants River Plate is worth €45m (£38m).
At the age of 17, Mastantuono has already played 54 first-team matches for River Plate.
The attacking midfielder, who usually operates as a right-winger or a No 10, has great technique on his left foot. It’s extremely telling that some of Europe’s biggest clubs already have him in their sights.

Enzo Fernandez is a massive fan of Franco Mastantuono
Mastantuono is already an Argentine talent representing his country at various youth levels. If he breaks into the senior group, he’ll share a dressing room with some giant names, including Chelsea’s Enzo Fernandez and global superstar Lionel Messi.
It’s interesting to hear that Fernandez, 24, has raved about the quality of Mastantuono this week amid reported transfer interest from Chelsea.
Fernandez said via Gaston Edul on X: “Franco Mastantuono, in my opinion, is a star. I see him as an incredible player. He has a European future. I hope he can help us with the Argentine national team.”
If Mastantuono’s trajectory continues at this rate, he’ll soon be playing alongside Fernandez on the international stage. Let’s wait and see if they become teammates at Chelsea, too.
