Enzo Fernandez urges Chelsea to sign ‘great player’ on permanent transfer this summer

Enzo Fernandez has urged Chelsea to sign on-loan Atletico Madrid forward Joao Felix permanently this summer and talked about their close relationship.

The pair are often spotted together in training and even sat together when Chelsea travelled to Dortmund earlier his month, so it is safe to say that they are pretty close.

It is hardly a surprise, too, since they share a lot in common. They are both young, Spanish-speaking players who are trying to adapt to a new environment and a new team. The two played for Benfica as well.

According to Fernandez, however, it all started with how Felix, who had only been at Chelsea for a couple of weeks at the time, made him feel welcome.

“He called me when I got here to ask if he could be any help,” the Argentina international said about Felix (via The Guardian).

“When you get on with someone, it helps on the field.

“He’s a great player, isn’t he? Let’s hope that Chelsea can do all they can to keep hold of him.”

As Fernandez pointed out, the chemistry between them has translated on the pitch. He created Felix’s only goal for Chelsea so far.

It remains unclear whether Felix, who is on a short-term loan from Atletico, will still be at Chelsea this season, but he has proved that he can be a key player in this team.

Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano previously claimed that as long as Felix is happy to say, Chelsea believe there is a “serious” possibility they can reach an agreement with Atletico.

Fortunately, the 23-year-old has said he enjoys playing with this Chelsea team on several occasions.
