Former Chelsea midfielder Marc Cucurella has added to the speculation surrounding Enzo Fernandez’s future amid links to Real Madrid.
Marc Cucurella was the first to head to Real Madrid this summer, wrapping up a £52 million switch to the Spanish capital. Now, his close friend Enzo Fernandez sees his own Chelsea future placed firmly under the microscope.
The two formed a tight bond during their time together at Stamford Bridge, frequently connecting both on and off the pitch.

With Cucurella already out the doors, reports indicate that Fernandez is eager to follow in his footsteps. It’s believed that talks between Chelsea and Real Madrid haven’t taken place, but given the speed of a deal for Cucurella, you cannot rule it out.
Enzo Fernandez congratulates Marc Cucurella on his switch
Speaking to Spanish publication Marca, Marc Cucurella revealed how Enzo has already messaged him to congratulate him on his move to Real Madrid.
And he also urged the Chelsea midfielder to go ahead and join him at the Bernabeu.
“He congratulated me on the signing. I hope it happens. I would be very happy. We were very happy at Chelsea, and to have the opportunity to both sign for Real Madrid in the same summer… I hope he’s lucky and becomes a Real Madrid player!”

A lack of respect for Chelsea
Marc Cucurella’s comments regarding Enzo Fernandez represent a distinct lack of respect toward Chelsea.
Openly campaigning for a former teammate to abandon Stamford Bridge and join him at Real Madrid directly undermines the club that financed their prominent Premier League platforms. For a player who just departed to publicly wish for a vital midfielder to follow him in the same window is incredibly poor.
It now feels like a foregone conclusion that he will leave London.
But ultimately, a clean break is best for everyone involved. If key players are actively flirting with other teams in the press, Chelsea are far better off removing that toxic energy from the squad and replacing them with committed professionals who actually want to be there.
