It looks as if Chelsea have put a lot of faith in their current manager to be the one to take the project forwards.
It was Enzo Maresca who was chosen to replace Mauricio Pochettino following his year at the club, with Todd Boehly being overruled in wanting to stick with the Argentine.
The Blues handed Maresca a long contract, and have backed him well in the summer transfer window with players he feels can make an impact in his style of play.

Being manager of one of the biggest and richest clubs in the Premier League would suggest that the Italian is earning a competitive wage with those right at the top of the table.
However, according to TalkSPORT, he is only the 10th highest earning Premier League manager, with a salary of £4.2m a year.
Enzo Maresca earns less than Sean Dyche
The report goes on to show that this is less than Everton manager Sean Dyche, despite the fact they currently sit bottom of the table.
Chelsea have had to pay significant fees to cut ties with managers recently, most notably for the departure of Graham Potter after he was hand-picked as Thomas Tuchel’s replacement.
While this will be the case if they part ways early with Maresca too, the belief now is that they have finally found the right man for the job.
Feud between Todd Boehly and Behdad Eghbali
It remains to be seen if his role is impacted by any of the drama going on over his head, with there being a well-documented feud between Boehly and co-owner Behdad Eghbali.
The two have reportedly accepted that a change needs to be made to how the club is run, however are both at this stage unwilling to give up their part in Chelsea.
Clearlake have far more shares than Boehly, however could reportedly be willing to do a u-turn if the right offer comes in for their part.
