While Chelsea are stumbling in the race for Champions League football in the present, there is still an exciting future to come at Stamford Bridge.
The Blues have already signed a number of players that have not been able to make their impact at the club yet, with the highlight so far being Andrey Santos.
The Brazilian has enjoyed an excellent season so far at Strasbourg, a club who are also under the BlueCo banner who own Chelsea.
The plan has always reported to be that Santos would be in Chelsea’s squad next season, with him set to be a key player for Enzo Maresca in the coming campaigns.

However, it has been claimed since that Chelsea will assess Santos’ options this summer, with the Ligue 1 side threatening to qualify for European football themselves.
Maresca was asked about Santos and the future he has at the club, and the Italian acknowledged his brilliant campaign while also reiterating that he is focusing on the end of the season at Stamford Bridge.
He said to journalist Kieran Gill: “We know Andrey is doing well. But we are just focused on how we finish this season. When we finish this season, we’re going to start to think about next season.”

Andrey Santos’ tremendous campaign
In his second season with the Ligue 1 side, Santos has added goals to become a regular part of his game from midfield.

French media have been wowed by Santos, with him establishing himself as the best young players in world football.
Chelsea have unfortunately again been unable to rely on Romeo Lavia in the middle of the park due to his injury problems, and having a reliable option to rotate with Enzo Fernandez and Moises Caicedo should be seen as an essential.
