Enzo Maresca has delivered huge praise on one of Chelsea’s summer signings for the impact he’s made at the club both on and off the pitch.

Yet again, Chelsea had another busy transfer window in the most recent summer market.

The Blues squad is now looking extremely healthy after the club added more quality faces to the group. In particular, there’s an abundance of attacking options available to head coach Enzo Maresca.

Interestingly, journalist Simon Phillips reports via his Substack this week that Chelsea’s recruiters are placing a big focus on personalities when they identify their transfer targets.

Enzo Maresca hails Tosin Adarabioyo impact

Maresca has shared that Chelsea’s Tosin Adarabioyo has made a really positive impact since his arrival at the club in the summer on a free transfer. In particular, he’s claimed that the 27-year-old defender has quickly become a leader within the group.

When discussing Tosin in Friday’s press conference, Maresca said via Chelsea’s YouTube channel: “Very impressed. I know Tosin since City. Very impressed with him, the way he has behaved on and off the pitch. He is one of the leaders in the dressing room. We are very delighted and very happy with him.”

Excellent Chelsea signing

A lot has been made about Chelsea splashing the cash to assemble this squad in recent years. In fairness, some of the criticism has been justified during that time.

However, we’re now seeing that this young and talented set of players is beginning to gel.

The signing of Tosin on a free transfer does look like being such a brilliant bit of business for the Blues.

At the age of 27, the centre-back is one of the older heads in such a young dressing room. Therefore, we’re not surprised to hear he’s settled quickly and is already helping out around the place.

In addition, the Englishman is a no-nonsense defender that brings some much-needed experience with him. He played 78 Premier League games at former club Fulham, which is why he needs no time adjusting to the pace and the physicality of the top flight in this country.

We’re interested to see which centre-halves comes out on top between Tosin, Wesley Fofana and Levi Colwill as the starting pair in the long-term. Regardless, Tosin looks like such a superb addition to the squad, especially now we hear he’s impacting on and off the pitch.
