Pundit Steve Nicol was left questioning why one player was even at Chelsea after his performance in yesterday’s loss to Wolves.
He told ESPN that he believed whoever made the decision to sign Axel Disasi over the summer proved they were not very good at their job of recruitment.
Disasi was named as one of the two centre-backs who made up what looked on paper like one of the stronger back fours seen at Chelsea in recent weeks.

However, he and his teammates were second best by a long way against a Wolves side, who were led by Pedro Neto and Matheus Cunha.
The latter scored a hat-trick at Stamford Bridge, while the other goal in the 4-2 defeat went down as an own goal on Disasi.
The 25-year-old has endured a rough start to his time at the club, with him coming in for plenty of criticism since his move for £39m over the summer.
Nicol criticises Disasi
While some of it has certainly been unwarranted, yesterday saw him struggle in front of what proved to be a frustrated Stamford Bridge crowd.
Now, Nicol has claimed that he couldn’t explain why anyone at Chelsea thought it was a good idea to sign him when they did.
He said: “Disasi. Who bought him? You’ve got Silva who’s 39. This is a bad team. Whoever picked these players has shown that they’re in the wrong job.”
It is likely that the ideal first choice central defensive partnership in the long term are currently not fit and available for Mauricio Pochettino, who is seeing the pressure mount on him and his position.
Wesley Fofana has been out for the entire season, while Levi Colwill’s absence this season has normally resulted in the Blues conceding four goals, something which has now occurred four times this season.
