Chelsea fans would love to see their team competing for the Premier League title again, but this season may come a bit too soon.
Chelsea are not doing terribly in the league, with Enzo Maresca’s side currently fourth in the table.
However, they are seven points behind leaders Liverpool and have made some silly defensive errors in the current campaign. It was only last weekend when Robert Sanchez gave away a penalty, for example.

Former Premier League goalkeeper Shaka Hislop has now been discussing whether he thinks the Blues can win a title before London rivals Arsenal.

Shaka Hislop on Chelsea and Arsenal
Right now, Arsenal remain below Chelsea in the table on goal difference after losing 1-0 to Newcastle United last weekend.
Nevertheless, Hislop is still backing the Gunners to come first this season and thus win the title before the Blues.
When asked on ESPN which club does he think will become champions of England first, he said: “I still have Arsenal as favourites, you know, for some very strange reason! And I know Chelsea and Arsenal face off against each other this weekend.
“If things don’t go Arsenal’s way, all of a sudden there’s a 10-point gap to the top or whatever it is, and the way Liverpool are playing right now that just feels insurmountable. But I chose Arsenal to win the title at the start of the season. I am stubbornly sticking with them for right now so, therefore, by default, I say Arsenal wins a title before Chelsea.”
Last month, former Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Jamie O’Hara claimed Chelsea could win the Premier League this term.
Shaka Hislop questioned Enzo Maresca’s appointment
Chelsea may not be in contention for the title, but Maresca and his men can be pleased with how their first 10 games of the season have gone.
The team’s main objective going into the campaign would have been to finish in the top four, and that is where they currently are.
There is still a long way to go, but Hislop did not really think they had much of a chance back in June.
“To bring in an inexperienced manager in a team as young as Chelsea are without their experience, when things start to go wrong and they’re looking to the sidelines for somebody to get them back on track, you don’t trust the inexperience of Maresca,” Hislop said when discussing Maresca’s arrival at Chelsea.
Again, the 44-year-old may not get his side to compete for the title this term, but the Chelsea manager is certainly proving his doubters wrong at the minute.
And Maresca can prove them even more wrong on Sunday when Arsenal travel to Stamford Bridge. Win that, and the Italian will really look like the real deal, if he does not already.
