Steve Nicol doesn’t think Chelsea should sign Joao Felix permanently this summer.
Joao Felix, who joined the Blues in January on a short-term loan from Atletico Madrid, is having a really positive impact in Graham Potter’s line-up.
However, ESPN pundit Nicol has urged Chelsea not to sign the 23-year-old attacker on a full-time basis.
“They signed him because they were hoping he would bring the end product because they didn’t have it. He’s going to cost a lot of money. No, I wouldn’t sign him. They’ve got enough players that are doing what Joao Felix has been doing,” Nicol told ESPN.

Spanish publication Revelo claimed this week that Felix is likely to be at Chelsea next season because it’s difficult to see him playing anywhere else.
In our view, we would love to have the on-loan Atletico star back at Stamford Bridge.
He scored his second Blues goal in the weekend’s 1-1 draw against Everton. It’s his overall contribution in the final third which makes him so valuable in the side, though.
The Portuguese international is such a danger when he’s dropping into intelligent pockets of space. Incidentally, West Ham captain Declan Rice called Felix “unbelievable” after coming up against him earlier this season.

Enzo Fernandez previously claimed Chelsea should do what they can to sign Felix. You will see a lot of the club’s fanbase agreeing with him, too.
It’s been pretty bleak watching the Blues attack in recent times, but the mid-season addition of Felix has helped add a creative spark.
The woodwork has definitely been his worst enemy, so two goals in nine Chelsea appearances doesn’t really highlight how busy he’s been for the team.
Of course, the main sticking point for the Blues is how much they’re willing to spend in the summer transfer window. It’s been a hectic first two windows for this ownership, so will they put the handbrake on this summer?
