AS Roma could appoint a former Chelsea manager as they look to replace Daniele De Rossi.

Daniele De Rossi was sacked by AS Roma on Wednesday morning, with the Giallorossi currently sitting 16th in the Serie A table.

De Rossi succeeded Jose Mourinho, and it looks like Roma could now turn to another former Chelsea manager.

Mourinho recently discussed Victor Osimhen, who was a target for the Blues in the summer transfer window.

AS Roma could hire Graham Potter or Thomas Tuchel

Graham Potter has been out of work ever since being sacked by Chelsea last year. However, Roma could be about to offer him a chance to get back into the game.

According to journalist Marco Conterio, Potter is one candidate for the Roma job, while another former Chelsea boss, Thomas Tuchel, is also being considered.

Like Potter, Tuchel is also not working right now after leaving Bayern Munich at the end of last season.

Potter is being considered for the England job, so the 49-year-old could have a couple of good options this winter.

Enzo Maresca will last longer at Chelsea than Graham Potter

Enzo Maresca is now the man in the Stamford Bridge dugout, and he has not made a terrible start to life as Chelsea boss.

The Blues are currently eighth in the Premier League, winning two of their first four games this season.

Looking at how they have performed in those matches and the quality of Maresca’s squad, you would expect the Italian to do a much better job than Potter, who was sacked less than a year in charge.

Chelsea’s owners will want to see the club qualify for the Champions League this season, but even if they do not, as long as Maresca does not have the team in the bottom half of the table like Potter did, he will probably be safe. He has a five-year contract at the club, though a long-term deal did not do much for Potter in the end.
