The international break saw a number of Chelsea players make a big impact on their country’s fortunes in their respective competitions.

One of those who impressed greatly was Noni Madueke, who was actually making his debut for England in the process.

National media were raving about the impact Madueke made, with him carrying the good form he has shown with his club to the international stage.

The winger was joined by Levi Colwill in the squad, who did himself no harm with two very assured performances in two different positions along the defensive line.

Frank Lampard and Graham Potter considered for England job

Lee Carsley has been in interim charge of the nation, however they are reportedly still looking at other options to take the role.

According to The Telegraph, two of those candidates are Graham Potter and Frank Lampard, both with experience in the hotseat at Stamford Bridge.

Neither manager has actually returned to the game since their most recent stints at Chelsea, despite there seeming to be plenty of interest in Potter in particular.

Top clubs around Europe such as Napoli and Ajax have reportedly been in touch about the Englishman, however he seems to be picking his moment after being removed from his post in 2023.

Chelsea players pushing for England places

There are plenty of Chelsea players vying for a spot in what is a stacked England squad who may benefit from a former Blue taking the role.

Cole Palmer left the camp due to injury last week, however it thankfully doesn’t seem too serious with him already back in first team training.

Given the fact he was grossly underused at Euro 2024, he will be hoping he can force his way into the regular starting side for the Three Lions going forwards.
