Chelsea are gearing up to face Brighton and Hove Albion in the Premier League, and ahead of the game Evan Ferguson has been comparing Jadon Sancho and one of his teammates.

Evan Ferguson is actually on the radar of Chelsea with scouts planning to watch him this season.

They’ll get to see him up close and personal this weekend as Brighton face Chelsea in the Premier League at Stamford Bridge.

The striker hasn’t been at his prolific best so far this season, as he’s yet to open his account for the Seagulls in three appearances in all competitions.

But, he can be dangerous and a handful on his day, so the Chelsea defence will be wary.

Interestingly, ahead of the game, Evan Ferguson was asked a question involving Jadon Sancho.

Evan Ferguson picks Kaoru Mitoma over Jadon Sancho

Jadon Sancho hasn’t been at Chelsea for too long but he’s already showing signs of promise.

Chelsea fans were quick to praise Sancho for his performance against West Ham United last time out, as he looked bright in the first-half and even provided an assist.

However, it’s too soon to make any assumptions about the midfielder as he’s only played twice for the Blues, though two assists in two games is a good start.

Interestingly, when speaking at the EAFC 25 launch party (ESPN FC YouTube), Evan Ferguson was asked to pick between Mitoma and Sancho, and decided to go with the former.

Chelsea kept an eye on Mitoma during the summer transfer window

Interestingly, Chelsea spoke about signing Kaoru Mitoma during the summer transfer window.

You can’t really blame them as he enjoyed an impressive season at Brighton last time round, scoring three goals and providing five assists.

Mitoma was untouchable in a 2-1 win against Chelsea in 2023, with it being said that Blues defender Trevoh Chalobah had been tormented by him.

Chelsea don’t currently need any wingers at the moment though, after adding the likes of Jadon Sancho and Pedro Neto to their ranks in the summer.
