Chelsea-owned striker Armando Broja made just his third appearance of the season during Everton’s 1-1 draw away to Manchester City.
Man City and Everton played out a 1-1 stalemate on Boxing Day afternoon in the Premier League.
Chelsea supporters may be intrigued to hear that Armando Broja, 23, got some rare minutes of top-flight action.
Broja joined Merseyside giants Everton back in the summer on a season-long loan, but he’s spent the majority of the first half of the season recovering from injury. Finally, the centre-forward made his Toffees debut at the start of December, although he’s still waiting to make his first start for them.
Chelsea received a £27m bid for Broja this year before his loan move to Goodison Park, which does include an option to buy in 2025.

Everton fans want Armando Broja starting over Dominic Calvert-Lewin
Everton boss Sean Dyche prefers to use Dominic Calvert-Lewin as his starting No 9 to lead the line. He’s only scored two Premier League goals all season, though.
Following Broja’s cameo performance off the bench versus Man City, many Everton supporters on social media agree that Broja should be in the starting line-up. They liked what they saw from the 23-year-old attacker in the second half at the Etihad Stadium.
It’ll be interesting to see if the on-loan striker does start on Sunday when the Toffees host Nottingham Forest.
Here are Everton fans on X discussing Broja on Boxing Day:
One fan wrote: “Broja has to start next game.”
“Great result again. Broja looked quality deserves a start on Sunday,” another supporter added.
One fan posted: “Broja has to start every game, there’s no debate, he’s a big difference maker up front for us and will keep improving, Dominic Calvert-Lewin offers barely anything anymore, needs to move on.”
Another shared: “Broja needs to start now from here on in.”
Another claimed: “Broja should start against Forest without a doubt.”
If Broja can keep himself fit, he should be a great option for Sean Dyche’s Everton side in the second half of the season.
Here is a look at the centre-forward’s contribution off the bench at Man City in Thursday’s league fixture.

Chelsea have found Armando Broja replacement
When Broja first came into Chelsea’s first team as a youngster, he was super exciting with so much pace, energy and directness. They’re all characteristics that we associate with Marc Guiu.
Chelsea striker Guiu, who’s only aged 18, has been really lively whenever he’s played so far during his debut season at the club.
In 10 appearances across all competitions this season, Guiu has scored six goals. He’s caught the eye with his all-round movement and sharpness, too.
Joe Cole is amazed Guiu only cost Chelsea £5m when they signed the teenager from Barcelona in the summer.
It’s disappointing that injuries have derailed Broja’s career and that he’s gone elsewhere to try get back on track. However, Chelsea supporters now get to enjoy the rawness of Guiu as a back-up striker.
