Fabrizio Romano has claimed that Mauricio Pochettino is still hugely committed to being the man to lead Chelsea into the future.

He took to YouTube to state that he is 100% confident in the squad, and is aware that it is a long-term process he is entering.

This season has hardly got off to the best start for Pochettino and Chelsea, especially after the promise they showed in the 1-1 draw with Liverpool at the start of the campaign.

In fact, they have shown very little of the free-flowing football that saw them go unbeaten in pre-season over in the United States.

The Blues have registered just one win in their five games so far this season, which has been extremely disappointing for supporters who were expecting so much more under the Argentine.

Pochettino committed to Chelsea

Last weekend’s 0-0 draw with Bournemouth summed up the frustration at Stamford Bridge right now, with a handful of players squandering opportunities to bring all three points back to West London.

Despite the tough start, Romano has claimed Pochettino is aware of the length of time this process requires, and still has faith in his players that they can carry it out.

He said: “This is not a short process at Chelsea; it’s a long-term process. Mauricio Pochettino knows that, and he wants all the players to be available as soon as possible.

“He wants to create something special and is 100% sure that the potential of the squad will be incredible in the future. But it takes time.”

Supporters will now have to wait until Sunday where they take on Aston Villa to see if the manager will change anything from last week’s side to try and pick up all three points.
