Fabrizio Romano says Todd Boehly has agreed Strasbourg transfer with ‘future view’ on Chelsea move

Todd Boehly and co in charge of Chelsea have had more than the Blues to be keeping an eye on in the last few months.

The BlueCo project took Strasbourg under their wing as they looked to kickstart a multi-club model that could end up being beneficiary to Chelsea for the future.

They have utilised the relationship between the clubs to the fullest extent this season, with three players on loan there at the moment.

Todd Boehly signing Yaya Dieme for Strasbourg

The star man so far has been Andrey Santos, who sits among the top performing midfielders in Ligue 1 this season.

Santos returning at the end of the season is a reason Chelsea would likely avoid signing Kobbie Mainoo, despite being credited with interest in him this month.

Djordje Petrovic and Caleb Wiley are also there whilst being on Chelsea’s books, however they are making permanent signings of their own.

Fabrizio Romano has stated that Strasbourg have completed a deal to sign promising young talent Yaya Dieme in 2026, with there being a view for him to move to Chelsea in the future.

He said: “Strasbourg have agreed deal to sign 17 year old winger Yaya Diémé to join from Senegal from 2026 when he turns 18.BlueCo Group (with potential future view on Chelsea move) have been following and monitoring him for months and now closed a deal.”

Who is Yaya Dieme?

Dieme is currently predominantly playing on the right wing for Diambars, however has also shown that he has the ability to play on the opposite side.

He has established himself as a Senegal U17 international, featuring five times and scoring once.

Chelsea have made it no secret that they are looking to secure the next superstar coming out of Africa, with a number of club legends representing the continent.

The likes of Didier Drogba, Michael Essien and John Obi Mikel all represent different African nations, and Chelsea are on the lookout for the next player to make their mark from there.
