Chelsea are likely to always be on the lookout for an opportunity to add one of the world’s best players to their side if it comes around.

With Cole Palmer the only Blue nominated for the last Ballon d’Or award, there are plenty of players who would be seen by many as serious upgrades to the current side.

In the eyes of many, there are none better than Vinicius Jr of Real Madrid as a potential player to add to what is a very exciting project already.

The left-winger was seemingly very confident that he would win the award after a super season that brought both La Liga and the Champions League back to the Spanish capital.

Chelsea not close to signing Vinicius Jr

It was reported last week that there was an element of unhappiness in the Brazil international, potentially opening the door for one of the interested sides in a deal.

Chelsea would love to have their name in that discussion, although Fabrizio Romano has stated that a deal for him to move anywhere is far from close to happening.

He said: “As of today, linking Vinicius Junior to Chelsea, PSG or Manchester United is absolutely not realistic. Interest is normal, but there is nothing ongoing.”

There is no doubting that the signing of Vinicius would be a serious improvement to some of the quality they have, in a position where nobody has really locked down as of yet.

Last chance for Mykhailo Mudryk

Jadon Sancho seems to have been displaced from his role in the side which he held down for the majority of the first games of the season.

Pedro Neto has replaced him in recent weeks, and supporters have been impressed with what they have seen from the Portugal international.

However, he is likely still waiting for some Premier League minutes in his preferred position on the right.

It remains to be seen whether this could throw up what could be a final chance at Stamford Bridge for Mykhailo Mudryk to make his mark on the side.
