Fabrizio Romano has claimed that Chelsea are absolutely interested in the signing of Ivan Toney in an upcoming transfer window.
He told Caught Offside that his sources have told him that the player will absolutely be leaving Brentford in 2024 when he returns to action following his ban.
It will still be a few more months before Toney returns to the pitch as he continues to train and keep himself fit.

He has just been allowed to return to training with his side, which will certainly help keep him match ready when he returns.
It is expected by many that the Englishman is going to be on the move at some point when he returns, with time soon to be ticking against him as far as his prime years go.
It has been quoted that it will take a price of up to £80m for him to move, with not too many clubs being able to pay that kind of money for a new striker.
Chelsea interested in Toney
One of those is certainly Chelsea though, and Romano has claimed that they are interested in a deal depending on what happens before the new year.
He said: “Sources close to Ivan Toney suggest he will 100% be leaving Brentford in 2024.

“Chelsea are interested in Ivan Toney, nothing advanced yet, let’s see which club comes with the right money to try to convince Brentford, probably not before December. Chelsea will keep protecting the squad and let’s see what happens in 1-2 months.”
The Blues currently have Nicolas Jackson up front, and he has shown glimpses that he can be an important player.
However, with just one goal so far this season it is unlikely he will have done enough so far to convince that they will not need to further strengthen there.
