Ally McCoist thinks Chelsea supporters are worried about the ownership of their club, but claims they’ll continue to be an appealing investment for any potential buyers.

Blues owner Roman Abramovich has confirmed he’s now looking to sell the club.

He’s been a majorly successful owner during a 19-year spell at Stamford Bridge, but it was confirmed this week he’s now looking for an investor to purchase the club from him. Also, he’ll not be requesting the loans owed to him by Chelsea.

Pundit McCoist doesn’t believe there will be any issue attracting new buyers despite any concerns.

“Chelsea are a club that have enjoyed great success under his (Abramovich’s) ownership… Chelsea fans will be concerned about the future of their club,” McCoist told talkSPORT.

“It will always be appealing to potential businessmen and potential buyers, so I don’t think that’ll be a problem. It’s just who takes it over.”

The intensified speculation this week regarding a potential takeover suggests McCoist is bang on the money, as several names are being linked with buying the London and Premier League giants.

Saudi Arabian billionaire Prince Alwaleed bin Talal is reportedly one of numerous suitors. Also, Hansjorg Wyss and Todd Boehly are linked. Finally, Stamford Bridge season ticket holder Loutfy Mansour is supposedly keen.

Gigantic shoes to fill at Chelsea

Abramovich, who’s created a legacy during nearly two decades at Chelsea, will forever go down as one of the most important individuals in the club’s history.

He’s been the main driving force behind the Blues elevating themselves into one of the world’s elite clubs.

Of course, any new successors have so much in place to continue his great work. It won’t ever be forgotten that he’s the businessman to take the club to dizzy heights, though.

There has been some ruthless decisions along the way, but the numbers and trophies speak for themselves.

The nervous wait is now on for Chelsea fans to see who arrives as the new owner because looking across the Premier League shows money doesn’t always guarantee success.
