Chelsea have seen a number of their stars performing for their countries during this September international break, but one of them could lose his starting position on Tuesday night.
Several Chelsea players are impressing for their countries right now, including Levi Colwill.
Chelsea fans praised Colwill’s display against the Republic of Ireland, with the 21-year-old England defender playing the full game in Saturday’s 2-0 away victory in the Nations League.
The left-footer is a ball-playing centre-half by trade. However, he slotted in pretty comfortably at left-back for England versus Ireland, something he did at club level last season at times as well.

Levi Colwill could be dropped from England XI
According to The Daily Mail, Chelsea’s Colwill could actually drop out of the England starting line-up on Tuesday night for the Nations League tie at home to Finland at Wembley Stadium.
It is understood that Manchester City’s Rico Lewis is in line to come into the XI at left-back, replacing Colwill in the starting team.
2024/25 season will be a big one for Chelsea defender
It feels like this campaign is going to be a really significant one in the career of Colwill, who should be delighted with the opening month.
The talented young defender has played every minute in the Premier League so far for Chelsea, forming a great partnership next to Wesley Fofana. Speaking via Chelsea’s YouTube channel recently, Fofana admitted he’s loving playing alongside Colwill.
On top of that, Colwill earned his second senior cap for England on Saturday. In fairness, it makes sense for interim Three Lions boss Lee Carsley to make some alterations on Tuesday night to get a look at some of the rest of the squad.
Chelsea head coach Enzo Maresca has described Colwill as a “fantastic profile”, as relayed by Chelsea’s YouTube channel. He ticks so many boxes as a modern defender with limitless potential.
