‘Fantastic’ Chelsea player will still train with the youngsters after first team return to Cobham

The first team players at Chelsea are all back in England after completing their pre-season tour of the United States.

It is fair to say many will have been left underwhelmed with the results achieved during this time. The Blues picked up just one win on their travels under new manager Enzo Maresca.

Some individuals did impress though. The likes of Romeo Lavia have put themselves in contention to start against Manchester City next weekend.

In the background of the match action, the decision makers at Chelsea have continued to keep making sales and signings.

One player they seem to be desperate to get rid of is Trevoh Chalobah, so much so that they actually left him off the pre-season tour completely.

Trevoh Chalobah to still train with youngsters

The Cobham graduate has been featuring for the development side in this time, and this looks set to continue even now the tour is over.

According to The Telegraph, the defender is set to continue to train away from Maresca’s squad even though they are back.

It doesn’t seem as if a permanent sale is particularly imminent, however interest remains from Premier League sides.

Crystal Palace are weighing up making a move for Chalobah, with them potentially looking for a replacement to bring in for former Blue Marc Guehi.

Questions over Chelsea defence

There are plenty of questions over who will start at the back when the champions visit Stamford Bridge in 10 days’ time, with them conceding a plethora of goals in pre-season.

Tosin Adarabioyo has been a relatively positive signing so far, with him impressing with his leadership skills in training already.

Wesley Fofana has enjoyed a full summer of training after missing the entire last season due to injury, however it does look as if they are hoping to ease him back into action slowly.

For many supporters, it looks as if there are not exactly any improvements without Chalobah in the squad.
