Frank Lampard really appreciated the role Ruben Loftus-Cheek played from the Chelsea bench in today’s win over Bournemouth.
Chelsea supporters will finally enjoy a weekend after seeing the team secure a 3-1 away victory against Bournemouth on Saturday afternoon.
Everyone has been discussing the six-game losing streak for the Blues since Lampard returned as caretaker manager, but they did end that unwanted streak this weekend.
Conor Gallagher’s header was cancelled out by Bournemouth’s Vina to keep the teams locked together at 1-1 at half-time. However, the Blues did improve and score two late goals in the second period to claim three vital Premier League points.
Benoit Badiashile and Joao Felix both hit the back of the net in the final 10 minutes to secure a win on the road.

Speaking in his post-match interview today, Lampard did applaud 27-year-old Chelsea substitute Ruben Loftus-Cheek.
The Blues midfielder impressed with his performance after replacing N’Golo Kante in the 63rd minute .
“I think Ruben gave us a bit of physical presence and calmness on the ball,” Lampard said, as quoted by Football London.

We’re not convinced Loftus-Cheek should be part of Chelsea’s plans moving into next season, but he did remind everyone he can still be a useful option in the squad.
The Evening Standard explained this week Chelsea may need to force Loftus-Cheek out of the club if they want to get rid of him this summer. They claim the Blues would be prepared to sell the academy graduate, but he’s reluctant to leave Stamford Bridge.
In our view, Loftus-Cheek’s best bet would be to go reignite his career elsewhere. There’s still a quality player in there.
