Chelsea may need to force Ruben Loftus-Cheek out of the club this summer, according to reports.

The Evening Standard claims that Ruben Loftus-Cheek is reluctant to leave Chelsea at the end of the season and he’s still under contract at Stamford Bridge until 2024.

It is understood that the Blues are prepared to sell the 27-year-old in the summer transfer window. However, the midfielder’s £150,000-a-week wages are said to be a potential stumbling block for interested buyers.

The report adds that Chelsea’s owners really want Loftus-Cheek to be sold in the next window.

There’s not much from stopping Loftus-Cheek seeing out the rest of his contract, but can Chelsea find a suitable next club for him?

In our view, the Englishman needs to move on. He’s a sellable asset in this oversized squad, so we can see huge benefits from getting him off the books.

Interestingly, Italian giants AC Milan and Inter Milan are two teams rumoured to be admirers of Loftus-Cheek

Calciomeracto reported this week that AC Milan could soon turn their attention towards a move for Loftus-Cheek.

Meanwhile, Gazzetta claimed last month that Inter Milan do like Loftus-Cheek and would be prepared to do some kind of deal with Chelsea this summer.

We’ve never really seen Loftus-Cheek go on and reach the heights that many hoped for when he was coming through the academy at Chelsea.

If he can start playing regularly and hitting top form for a new club, we don’t rule out the possibility of getting an England recall further down the line.

Unfortunately, it’s all gone a bit stale in West London and he needs a fresh start badly.
