Chelsea find themselves just one game away from being crowned the best club in world football, however face the toughest possible test in the final.

The Blues will face Champions League holders PSG on Sunday night, with the winners of the top level of European football going up against the winners of the Conference League.

Enzo Maresca will be sweating on the fitness of one of his key players for the final, with Moises Caicedo limping off at the end of the win over Fluminense.

Caicedo was spotted with his ankle heavily strapped after the game, with just a few days to recover in time for the final.

Frank Leboeuf ‘scared’ for Chelsea ahead of Club World Cup final

Even with the Ecuador international fit, Chelsea will go into the final as underdogs, especially after the Ligue 1 side decimated Real Madrid in the semi-finals.

Former Chelsea defender Frank Leboeuf has admitted he has very little confidence that the Blues will be able to overcome PSG.

He told ESPN that he is actually ‘scared’ that Chelsea’s young players could be taught a lesson by the French side.

He said: “I try to be optimistic for Chelsea, but according to what I’ve seen from both clubs, it’s hard for me not to predict that any team which plays against PSG, to not lose 3-0 or 4-0. That’s what it is. And I’m scared for the young boys of Chelsea, because that could be a lesson. Will it be a good lesson or bad one? I don’t know.”

Maresca facing injury crisis ahead of Club World Cup final

If Caicedo is not fit enough to feature, Chelsea are facing a problem when it comes to fit midfielders ahead of the big game.

Romeo Lavia missed the semi-final due to injury. Maresca said that he had been training alone, hinting the injury was not serious.

However, Dario Essugo is also unavailable for selection. He will not return to the picture until the new Premier League season is upon us.

This could see an opportunity crop up for someone like Andrey Santos or Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall to be handed a rare start, as they both look to prove their prospects ahead of next season.
