Frank Leboeuf is pretty adamant that Chelsea don’t stand much of a chance of finishing in the Premier League’s top four this season.
We’re not going to argue with him based off the early months of the season, too.
The Blues did pick up an impressive away win at Fulham earlier this week, but the start to the new season has been generally underwhelming.
Mauricio Pochettino’s side sit 11th in the league table with eight points from their opening seven games. Incidentally, they’re already eight points adrift of fourth-placed Liverpool.
Despite the huge spending from the club to assemble this squad of players, it’s worth remembering it’s extremely young and suffering with some significant injuries right now.

Leboeuf has a strong response when rating Chelsea’s top four chances this season.
When asked if finishing in the top four is a minimum for Chelsea this year, Leboeuf told talkSPORT: “Yeah, but it won’t happen.
“I don’t see it happening. Right now Chelsea is a mid-table club. You have to be realistic. You have to stop dreaming.”

Chelsea travel to Burnley this Saturday afternoon for their final match before the international break. The Chelsea Chronicle has predicted the starting line-up Pochettino may choose.
Afterwards, the Blues embark on an extremely tough run of league fixtures.
Our hope is that this squad can aim for a spot in the top eight and a return to European football next year, but let’s see where we’re sat around New Year.
For now, supporters need to go through the pain of watching the Champions League competition without Chelsea.
