There are not too many Chelsea players Frank Leboeuf currently has faith in.
Chelsea have been poor this season, finding themselves ninth in the Premier League table.
However, one member of Mauricio Pochettino‘s squad who has impressed in the current campaign is Cole Palmer. And speaking on ESPN FC, Frank Leboeuf admitted that the 21-year-old is the only Chelsea player he expects to deliver in games at the moment.
The Blues signed him from Manchester City in a £45m deal (Evening Standard) last summer.
Palmer has scored nine goals in 17 Premier League appearances for Chelsea this season. He was recently compared to former team-mate Kevin De Bruyne by Micah Richards.
Cole Palmer the only Chelsea player giving Frank Leboeuf hope
Leboeuf believes in Palmer, but the same cannot be said about the other players in Pochettino’s squad.
Speaking after Chelsea’s 1-0 win against Fulham on Saturday, Leboeuf said: “Really, that was again an appalling, for me, performance. Only Palmer gives me hope that something good can come out from a player.
“But otherwise, again, it’s predictable, it’s nothing special, they don’t create anything, they don’t change the pace.”

Cole Palmer Chelsea’s best hope of European football
If Chelsea are to qualify for the Europa League or Europa Conference League at the end of the season, then they need Palmer to continue what he is doing.
He is their best bet, with the Englishman being their match-winner this term.
The Blues’ actual goal is probably Champions League football, but with the club currently sitting in ninth, it is going to take a miracle for Pochettino’s side to finish in the top four.
It is not good, but if Chelsea qualify for the Europa League and manage to win either the Carabao Cup or FA Cup, this season will not go down as a complete disaster.
