Chelsea fought hard to return to winning ways yesterday in the Premier League with a victory over Newcastle United.
The Blues were 2-1 victors at Stamford Bridge, with their defensive resolution being tested particularly in the final moments of the game.
It was a new-look back four for Chelsea yesterday, with club captain Reece James making his second start in a row.
Enzo Maresca believes starting James at left-back was successful, despite the fact that fingers were pointed at him for the goal they conceded.

Frank Leboeuf worried by Wesley Fofana after Chelsea vs Newcastle
The one change at the back from the loss to Liverpool saw Wesley Fofana return to the starting side after serving his suspension for picking up too many yellow cards.
He added to his collection with a first half booking yesterday, and survived an injury scare after flying into a challenge.
Frank Leboeuf was not convinced by the performance of the Frenchman, with him stating to ESPN that he has worries over his levels right now.
He said: “At one point we will have to talk about Wesley Fofana because he worries me a lot.”
Who is Chelsea’s best partner for Levi Colwill?
Levi Colwill has established himself as one of the first names on the teamsheet at the moment, however finding the perfect partner for him is now the task for Maresca.
Fofana has started every game he has been available for this season, with the manager seeming to be a big fan of him.
Maresca has described Fofana as ‘fantastic’, and he is no doubt still getting up to speed with having regular minutes after a long injury.
The Conference League has seen the likes of Tosin Adarabioyo and Benoit Badiashile make the majority of their appearances, with the latter beginning to prove himself after a rough start to the season.
Badiashile is beginning to turn his fortunes around at Stamford Bridge, and it may not be long before he impresses Maresca enough to be handed a start in the Premier League.
