Nicolas Jackson stole the show for Chelsea against West Ham United in the lunchtime kick-off, but there was one other player who Enzo Maresca shared his admiration for.

Chelsea are really starting to find their feet under Enzo Maresca with two wins from two games now in the Premier League.

Of course, getting a win is always a good feeling, but it’s the way Chelsea dominated the game that will really please Maresca, as they were ruthless up top.

Nicolas Jackson stole the show with his two goals and an assist, and Nedum Onuoha was quick to praise Jackson as he stated that West Ham couldn’t get near him.

Special mentions go to Moises Caicedo, Chelsea’s unsung hero, and Cole Palmer, who constantly linked the play and even grabbed a goal.

However, Maresca chose to praise one of his other players post-match.

Enzo Maresca so impressed by ‘fantastic’ Chelsea player after West Ham win

Interestingly, it came out recently from Fabrizio Romano that Chelsea never wanted to sell Wesley Fofana in the summer transfer window and they believe that the best is yet to come.

He wasn’t at his best against Chelsea and really should have given away a penalty in the first-half against West Ham, but VAR decided it wasn’t to be.

And, Fofana didn’t suffer an injury, he was substituted due to the threat of Mohamed Kudus early in the second-half.

After the game, Maresca was full of praise (as per Football London) for the defender, despite the tough game.

“”In the second half, they changed [Mohammed] Kudus to this side and it was probably a big risk to keep him but there is not any injury.

“Wes is a player I really love and we love with Wes because he is doing fantastic after one year of injury.”

Chelsea’s right-back options moving forward

Wesley Fofana’s trial at right-back didn’t go well and Maresca will no doubt be weighing up his options.

Malo Gusto is still out, and Reece James is also unavailable, so there really aren’t many options, unless he decides to put Marc Cucurella or Ben Chilwell on that side, or use Axel Disasi again.

The Blues now have four games in the space of 14 days, so there’s plenty of time to experiment, with no better opportunity than the Carabao Cup third-round clash with Barrow.

Enzo Maresca had admitted he has no idea when Reece James could return for Chelsea, and he said Gusto wasn’t fit for the West Ham clash but didn’t specify a return date.
