Frank Leboeuf has described Chelsea target and Lyon star Rayan Cherki as one of the most skilful players on earth.
Rayan Cherki, who’s a super talent to come through the Lyon academy, is linked with a potential move to Stamford Bridge in this summer transfer window.
ESPN has claimed this week that Chelsea are prepared to make an opening offer for £34million-rated Cherki. They added that the Blues already have a good relationship with Ligue 1 giants Lyon.

ESPN pundit and former Chelsea player Leboeuf is very impressed by the individual quality of Cherki, who impressed in the Lyon first team last year.
However, he’s not totally convinced the 20-year-old attacker is what the Blues need at this moment in time.
When asked directly about Chelsea’s interest in Cherki, Leboeuf told ESPN: “Skill-wise, one of the best players already on earth. 20 years old, unbelievable. The guy can do everything.
“But he still has to improve and is young. When he has to get rid of the ball, it’s always half a second too early or half a second too late.
“I have no doubt that he’s going to improve.
“I think it’s a good investment, but I’m not sure he’s the kind of player Chelsea needs right now. They need experienced players. They don’t need the future. They need the present.”

Anybody who watched Cherki play for France’s Under-21s side this summer during the European Championships will have been entertained by him.
He’s an extremely skilful playmaker with real quality off both feet.
Once the youngster’s final product comes together, we could be looking at a seriously good player.
His aim next year should be to improve on last season’s tally of five goals and six assists across all competitions, whether that’s at Chelsea, Lyon or elsewhere.
