Frank Leboeuf really wants Chelsea to go and sign Inter Milan goalkeeper Andre Onana this summer.

There is speculation in the transfer rumour mill that the Blues could bring in a new shot-stopper at Stamford Bridge during the summer transfer window.

Andre Onana, who’s just 27, is one of the high-profile keepers linked to west London.

TalkSPORT claimed earlier this week that Chelsea are prepared to offer Kalidou Koulibaly to Inter Milan in a swap deal involving Onana.

Meanwhile, The Guardian reports that Chelsea and Manchester United have both registered an interest in Onana. The £50million-rated Cameroon international may favour a move to Old Trafford right now, though.

Leboeuf has shared that Onana would be his first-choice goalkeeper target for Chelsea:

“The goalkeeper I really want is Onana. The season he just had at Inter is exceptional. You feel the calmness from him, you feel his presence, power, and the stamina of the guy. He never gives up, he’s always a good sport, he knows what he has to do,” Leboeuf wrote in his column for Si & Dan Talk Chelsea.

“If I had to make the choice, I’d chose the exceptional Onana. He’s been incredible since he was at Ajax.”

We would definitely like to see Onana in Chelsea colours next season after a great individual year at the San Siro.

The gloveman kept 19 clean sheets across all competitions last season for Inter, including eight in the Champions League en route to finishing runners-up.

He’s a top keeper with an exquisite range of passing and such composure on the ball. He demands his penalty box and has a big presence, too.

However, it’s worth flagging that Sky Sports did recently claim that Mauricio Pochettino is happy starting next season with Kepa Arrizabalaga in the Blues goal.
