Fabrizio Romano has claimed that Chelsea are currently only concentrating on completing the signing of Moises Caicedo.

He claimed in his YouTube video that the Ecuadorian is their only priority right now, despite links to signing other players in the market.

The Caicedo saga is now beginning to drag on, which is undoubtedly creating a worrying scenario for supporters who are eager to see him join.

A quality midfield addition or two is becoming a necessity for the Blues ahead of next season, with there now less than three weeks until they get their Premier League campaign underway against Liverpool.

While Enzo Fernandez is back amongst the club, finding a player to match his quality alongside him is difficult when looking at the current first team.

Chelsea prioritising Caicedo

This is despite Conor Gallagher enjoying a strong start to the pre-season campaign over in the United States. He has looked mighty impressive so far, and will now likely stay at Stamford Bridge this season.

Despite links emerging for Chelsea to other big signings, Romano has claimed their priority at the moment is completing the addition of Caicedo.

He said: “Chelsea are well informed on Mohammed Kudus’ situation at Ajax, but no bid has been made so far. The full focus remains on Moises Caicedo for now.”

The Blues were last week linked to the signing of Kudus as an extra versatile addition that can be a part of Mauricio Pochettino’s attack next season.

If the Ajax man is not brought in, they may turn their attention to Crystal Palace man Michael Olise, who is wanted by Manchester City too.

His creativity is certainly something the Blues missed out on last season, and his addition would certainly be welcomed at Stamford Bridge.
