Gary Neville doesn’t think ‘world class’ forward will join Chelsea

Gary Neville insists he can’t imagine a world where Harry Kane leaves Tottenham and signs for Chelsea.

Kane, who’s now 29, seems to be a popular topic for discussion every transfer window. It feels like that will continue to be the case until he wins a piece of silverware in his career, too.

The Spurs and England star continues to be one of the elite centre-forwards in the world.

As for Chelsea, their problems in the striker position are well documented.

It’s quite telling that Kane’s tally of 18 league goals so far this season is just five shy of Chelsea’s entire goals scored total.

Sky Sports pundit Neville acknowledges that Chelsea are crying out for a new frontman at Stamford Bridge.

However, he doesn’t think there’s a chance Kane ditches Spurs for one of their biggest rivals.

“Chelsea, I can’t see him going there. He’s quite loyal to Tottenham and there’s a big rivalry with Chelsea, so I don’t see that happening, even though they do need a centre-forward,” Neville told Sky Sports.

Described as “world class” by Antonio Conte, Kane is exactly the type of goal machine Chelsea need.

The Telegraph claimed in January that Todd Boehly loves the idea of signing the Spurs talisman. Any deal has been rated as “highly unlikely”, though.

In our view, we aren’t going to see Kane move across London in what’s left in his career.

However, it’ll be interesting to see if anyone else has the pulling power to get him.
