Deivid Washington made his first-team debut for Chelsea last weekend in the Premier League defeat to Brentford.

Now, there’s plenty of Blues supporters on social media that are desperate to see the 18-year-old youngster start in tonight’s game.

Mauricio Pochettino’s side host Championship club Blackburn Rovers on Wednesday evening in the Carabao Cup’s Round of 16 tie.

With zero European football this campaign, Chelsea should feel extra pressure to do well in the two domestic cup competitions. On top of that, the league form has been mediocre 10 games into the season.

Another Chelsea prospect

Deivid Washington, who’s just 18, made his senior Chelsea debut versus Brentford after being around the first-team group this season.

The Blues coughed up £17million (Sky Sports) to sign the Brazilian teenager in the summer, so he did arrive from Santos with quite an exciting reputation.

He’s a young centre-forward that many people are curious to see much more from.

With Pochettino’s side hardly potent in front of goal this campaign, it’ll be interesting to see if more opportunities lie around the corner for him.

Pochettino explained that it was a late call for Washington to be involved against Brentford last Saturday, as quoted by Football.London.

The young attacker made a late cameo display from the bench in the Premier League. He would have hoped for a cleaner connection with the one goalscoring opportunity that fell his way in the box.

Fans get behind Deivid Washington

A selection of Chelsea supporters on social media are desperate to see Washington get minutes tonight at home to Blackburn. In fact, plenty want to see him bumped straight into the XI.

If he does start, where would that leave Nicolas Jackson?

We want to see Pochettino try and strike a nice balance in the team selection because it’s vital to win to enter the quarter-final phase of the competition.
