Chelsea’s Raheem Sterling is “far too good” not to be in the England squad.
That is according to Glen Johnson.
Raheem Sterling, 28, must have been really disappointed by what happened to him recently.
Despite some impressive form for Chelsea this season, he was left out of England’s camp for the October international break. It’s worrying to think he’s not been involved with Gareth Southgate’s group since the World Cup last year.

Former Chelsea defender Glen Johnson has jumped to the defence of Sterling by insisting he’s still a quality player. He’s adamant that the Blues winger should be in England’s plans.
“He’s far too good to not be in the England setup,” Johnson told LiveScore.
“I know we’re spoiled for those positions but for me, he’s got to be in there.
“I just think every now and then, Raz has a confidence dip and he’s at his best when he’s not thinking, just enjoying football and causing defenders problems.
“I think when he gets a bit of stick, he takes it to heart and then he feels a bit sorry for himself, then things don’t go his way.
“He needs to find a bit of form but he’s definitely good enough to still be playing for England.”

Sterling is fast running out of time to get back into favour with England before next summer’s Euro 2024 tournament in Germany.
The £50million winger (Daily Mail) should be back with the Three Lions if his form continues, so he can only take care of what happens at club level.
It would be pretty bold to leave out a player like Sterling at home, who’s got 82 England caps and a track record of doing well in international competitions.
Speaking via talkSPORT this week, Sam Allardyce shared his concern about Sterling’s chances of getting back into the England fold.
Chelsea should be the ones who benefit most from Sterling’s latest snub. He’ll be fresh and raring to go for this Saturday’s Premier League fixture at home to Arsenal.
